When I play past the normal end of the game something seems to happen to the tech tree. It is as if I suddenly have another country's techs available to research. Stuff I had listed before is no longer there and new items have popped up. Is this right?

Edit:
New stuff - now the predicted "Turns to end-of-game" changes each turn. It was "-1" turns, then -2 turns and now it is -4 turns. And, it keeps giving me the "You failed to achieve victory" screen at the end of every turn. Very irritating.
