Hey all,
I am looking at getting back into WWII minis and such, waiting on my copy of LNL to arrive as well.
If any of you fine folks have a favorite ruleset, for Skirmish to Squad lvl WWII please let me know.
Also I am looking for a good computer Skirmish or squad based WWII game, on disability so money is a bit limited, splurged on LNL but it looks like it should be a good game, so it will be a month or two before I will be able to buy more, but wanted to look at what others found good out there.
Thanks for any and all help.
Lee

For WWII skirmish to squad, I would look no further. I think LnL has a distinctly "miniatures" feel. I'm using it with my GHQ stuff.
For the computer, the best skirmish/squad based game is "Combat Mission," hands down. I think the first chapter Combat Mission: Beyond overlord is still the best, but the two sequels covering the Russian Front and North Africa are good too. They've been out for a couple of years, so the graphics are dated, but the gameplay is unequaled. IMHO.

If money is an object, try downloading Steel Panthers: World At War. It's a top down turn-based tactical WWII game and, best of all, it's FREE! There is also a General's Edition which with all the additional Mega-Campaigns is a commercial product, but the game itself is the same and can still be downloaded free from major game sites. If you like it and want the mega-campaigns later, the General's Edition is available in our online store.
Regards,
- Erik

Well, I'm not surprised. CM and LnL share a lot of neat concepts and similar philosophy. So my friend. It seems you are on quite a roll. [;)]
