Database Editor Help

Hallo Everyone...

Trying to do some editing with the database editor and I am running into some problems...

I open scenario 15 (Default War in the Pacific Scenario), make changes, and save the database in another slot. When I go to play the scenario, it automatically defaults to a Japanese victory with a huge VP. The only changes I made were to modify some of the default A/C values.

Also, when I try to use the scenario editor, and attempt to open the database file I saved, it says "cannot open aircraft file!".

Any ideas??

Thanks for your help

Gotta ask this: you did remember to use both editors for your modification, right? You have to use both Scenario and Database Editors before a new scenario is playable.

Terminus, if you don't change anything in the scenario editor, as opposed to the data base, do you still have to open the scenario editor.

EG I decide I think Illustrious class should carry 52 aircraft in its later upgrade. In any or all secnarios I play. So I change it in my data base editor.

Do I need to open each scenario file in that editor and do anything?

If so what?

You only need to use both editors the first time you create a scenario.

From then on, you only need to use the database editor to modify the data files.

If you are changing data from an official scenario (#1-25), you will need to make a copy of it by using both the scenario and database editors and saving the scenario in a new slot. You can't override official data files.

What he said...[;)]

A complete WitP scenario consists of scenario data (generated by the scenario editor) and DB data (generated by the DB editor). You have to have both, but once you've created the basic scenario, you'll be doing most of the editing work in the database editor.

Terminus...

Is there an order that I have to open/save the database using both programs? I tried opening scenario 15, saving it in another slot, then opening it again with the scenario editior and it errored out...
