Hi,

Could someone be kind enough to email me the manual of this game? I have been thinking about getting this game to see if I like it before I buy WITP. I would like to read the manual to get a feel for the game.

My email is mashkis1@yahoo.com

Thanks.

72 hits on this request and still no manual. Is the manual so large that it cannot be sent to yahoo or is that no one wants to help a brother out?

It's probably because nobody is allowed to send you the manual, since Matrixgames holds the copyright to the manual. As far as I remember, MG never publishes manuals without the games (there were similar requests in the forum before).

The question, if this is a good policy or not is for someone else to decide.

Also, I, for myself, as most other people here I suppose, have paid hard earned money to be able to play this game I enjoy and support the development team behind it.

And each time I see someone asking for a manual, I cannot help but think "Geez, and another pirate who downloaded the game for free on some warez site, and is stuck without the manual which goes with it".

Well I certainly won't help a thief by sending him for free something I paid for...

I am not saying you are one, just explaining to you why I will never send you a manual, even if I did read your thread.

Mashkis - buy the game. I picked it up for 3 GBP (c $5 US) new. It's not very expensive any more. As for the manual, what the other people say.

There are plenty of reviews in the sticky threads to give you an idea of how the game plays. I only recently discovered UV but I'm hooked. Considering getting WitP now as a result. :)

Thanks all. I did not realize the copyright issues here. I will do some more reading on the forum and reviews. I just wanted to get a feel for how you actually play the game and if this is something for me.

Read the AAR'S and you will see what it's about..
well worth the investment if you are a strategist...

You cannot get a feel for the game, or any game, by reading reviews.

The game has a unique interface. It took me a while to get the hang of it but I realied the interface is brilliant.

It takes 2 days or more to loas a ship. If you set the turn length to one day, it takes 2 days (turns) to load a ship. It was somewhat frustrating for a while as I could not work out why the ship didn't load and get underway in one turn!

These are the points not covered in manuals or in reviews.

This is an old thread, but I'm replying as a question.

I wanted a large copy of the hex grid map from /art folder printed at Staples, however they denied me saying they can't print copyrighted material unless permission from the creators.

I find it a bummer, I wanted this hanging on my wall. So is there any way I can get a large print of this map? I know you can order a large map of the WitP's but there isn't one at the Merchandise store for UV.

Wow, that seems odd to me. I´ve heard of people having places print their PDF manuals for them. Seems odd they wouldn´t print a map.

I know a dozen places that would print the map for you in large size but you´d have to come to South America to have it done.

Maybe you can print and take your order form and show it to them to prove you bought the game. If not I´d email 2by3 games about it. They might be kind enough to email this ¨Staples¨ place and say it´s ok for them to print it.

Isn't there a program through matrix to get manuals printed at Kinkos?

Or is that Dominions publisher....shrapnelgames?

The manual can be ordered here for about the same price as a McDonald's value meal.

He doesn´t want the manual printed. He wants the map printed in a large scale.

Thanks for the link; I didn't know Matrix had a setup, but why only 3 games?

Maybe if I print this and Kinkos and show them, they'll be able to print a larger copy of the map?

BTW, my McDonald's meals are the happy ones. [:'(]

UV is something like WitP, both of which came from the DOS-based PacWar. You can download PacWar for free; it's found toward the end of all the Matrix Forums.

There's even a "downloadable" manual for PacWar.

Ya thats what I was thinking, if they'll print the manual I don't know why they wouldn't let you get the map blown up.
