Kingdom of Naples Oddity

The Kingdom of Naples asked me if they could become my (Turkish) protectorate. I knee-jerked a "yes" answer. The next turn I was relieved to find that the Kingdom of Naples consisted of only the island of Sicily. However, the Kingdom of Naples keeps building troops...in the province of Naples. I don't get them, someone else does, and I am not sure if I pay for "their" troops or not.

What is the story on this?

Is the province of Naples conquered? Troops built there by the conquering nation should have the Neopolitan flag on them -- but it's no harm to you: such troops should revert back to Neopolitan control (or your control, as protecting nation) in the event that the province of Naples is freed under insurrection. (That's how it should work, at least.)

The province of Naples is now a protectorate belonging to someone else. I have never gotten any of the troops that I have been noticed that my protectorate, the Kingdom of Naples (on Sicily only), is building in the province of Naples. I have received several of these notices over the last few years.

Its a bug. I'm still working to get Eric to a complete solution of the multiprovince country bug issues.

Oh dear; it sounds as though the Kingdom of Naples is still building units in the province of Naples...yes, this sounds like a part of the multiprovince minor bug.

So, however we force the issue of the multiprovince minor itself (does it stay with a "core province", or does it migrate to another province), the AI somehow needs to distinguish between provinces still under control of the minor, and provinces that have been taken away. Otherwise, it will keep building in all its former provinces.

On conquering some provinces, among them Venetia, I saw neutral units that belonged to those provinces situated there and they didn't move at all. What are they for?
