This island was claimed by the USA inthe lat 1800's but was neglected till 1935 and didn wasnt developed till 1935 when Pam Americam airways needed a stop on its clipper route to the orient
The fisrt USA military presence wasnt till the early 1940's

There probably should be no miliary presence from wither side on it at the start of WPO ?
I see in the AAR section it is ebing bombared .. there probably should be any troops there to bombard ?

Wake would have been more interesting to everyone had war broken out between the Japanese and the USA in the 1920's.

Given the shorter ship ranges of the day, Wake would have been an important coaling station for USN ships sailing to rescue the Philippines.

There is just a base force and a defense Bn on it. That said, the AI will usually have it in the first week, and PBEM within the first month. While it was neglected, it would be a crucial base for both sides, so for game purposes it is garrisoned.
