Scuttles!?!?!?

Last night, France and Russia finally DOW'd me. It was 1808 playing the 1792 scenario.
Conveniently they had two fleets sitting in Brest. So, I thought I might as well rid the world of them on my Franco-Russian tour.
I blockaded Brest immediately and prepared troops to invade from Portugal and Kent.
The invasion went as planned, and I lay seige to Brest, whereupon a French army moved into my view from the southeast. I had the game set for the choice to rally garrisons to combat. What a sucker the AI is for that!
Anyway, a tough contest ensued in Brittany and the French were repelled. Next turn, I saw two British fleets sitting in Brest. I couldn't remember ordering them there, so I clicked on them. Sure enough, one was the Baltic fleet, and the other the Joyeuse fleet.
I don't like the prospect of giving my fleets away for nothing...especially so they can be useful to an enemy. And I don't think any Admiral who was content with his head's connection to his neck would dare let them fall undamaged into the hands of an enemy.
Peace terms aside, their has to be a way to scuttle fleets.
