Looking for a PBEM opponent

Picking up UV after a long absence ..New to UV PBEM tho and would like to give it a chance. (WITP PBEM looks a bit too intensive). Anyone interested? I've played allied before, but I'll give either side a try. I'm patched to 2.41 and generally play a turn a day or thereabouts. Drop a line if interested.

If you can upgrade to the public beta (2.42) then I'll happily play. (register in the members area to get it). Would rather play allies as Nomad and Jeff are kicking my butt right now :)

Is 2.42 functional? The board seemed pretty negative on it.

I couldn't answer that. From what I've read on the boards it's much of a muchness. But I'm not certain whether I can reinstall 2.41 without totally messing up my current PBEMs, and I'd rather not take the chance :)

OK, I'm patched up. Scenario 17? What are your preferences for house rules? I'm fairly flexible...would prefer elevated ship commitment levels.

Scenario 17.

If you're taking Japan, 160% ship commitment vs Allies 100% sound ok?

House rules:

Surface Combat TFs on ASW - no more than 6 ships.
No corsairs on CVs with exception of any corsairs that are already on CV when it enters theatre.

Apart from that, you call them. (I'll not deliberately bomb Rabaul etc from Oz but hard to make house rule as Naval Attack is AI controlled).

Guys, I gotta warn you about 2.41...

About 2-3 months into the scenario, both of you will start losing planes on a mass scale...they'll just disappear off the map...

Reinforcements will then start arriving with zero or very few planes....

Unfortunately, 2.30 is the only way to go for long scenarios....

What do you think, Z? Have you seen any of these problems?

Juggalo is talking about 2.41. 2.42 beta does still have bugs but not to the same extent in my (limited) experience. Plane bug still occurs but is not gamebreaking and hinders Allies more than Japan in any case.

Set up a game, and we'll play until it crashes [;)]
