first, if your nickname is String, please don't read following text....
Does anyone had experience with "teleporting" naval units. I know this happens with ground units, but i have similar situation with naval unit.
INTRODUCTION: My opponent put two torps in CVE Hosho near Kendari (one hex from the base) with Beauforts. Damage is something about 40/50/10 and i add two dd's to escort damaged CVE (yeah i know i should change them to the escort mission, but forgoted)... then i set home base Davao, full speed etc....
Next turn i was quite suprised, my two dds were on their way to Davao but without Hosho!!!... i spent some time to found Hosho, and i found her (alone) two or three hexes south of Kendari?!?!
i play stock scen, version 1.6....
is this a "naval teleport bug" or...?

Hmm.
Could it be that you left the TF as Air Combat. The turn played out. Hosho was detached to form its own TF (which happens if ships are heavily damaged) but somehow reacted to something further south?

If it was too heavily damaged to launch aircraft, it shouldn't react...

T,
How about the thread in GD with the chappie who had Sho and Zui react to a TF near Andaman island. Weren't they too heavy to launch stuff too?

The DD probably detached from the damaged CV. This happens something to me too.
If the CV reacted you would have seen a message TF reacts. So if you didn't see that it might be your TF is going around hidden (to you) SS that the AI is trying to avoid for you. This happens heaps for transport Tf and might happen for your lone wolf CV that is damaged.

IIRC, there wasn't message "TF reacts", so your explanation sounds reasonable.
However, such things shouldn't happend. Hosho will sink and what is even worse, i'm short just one turn[:@] - a turn when Hosho detached.
Speedy: i recall this thread, and if i was him i would throw computer through window...
i would like to hear from officials/mods if this "bug" are going to be fixed?
