Please forgive this question from a newbie, but I can't seem to find (or figure out) the answer anywhere in the manual. On the combat detail screen, there is a 3 digit number underneath each unit involved in a particular engagement, next to the pictures of the dice showing the roll for that engagement. What do these numbers represent? If I understand the manual correctly, both the attack value and the defense value will likely be 2 digit numbers, so my guess is that these figures are cumulative numbers, but cumulative of what, exactly? Thanks!

These are ID numbers for the units so that you can tell if a particular unit is involved in more than one part of the battle (i.e. you can see if a unit hit once is attacked again).
