Ok, I grew up in Mass and at this moment I am pretty despondent. I may be the biggest Sox fan in the world and I can't believe how quickly this post season came to an end...

I am really down.

Buck up Shaun, at least your team is willing to spend money to get better, so you can look forward to maybe picking up some people. Definitely need to find some pitching, maybe if they can actually trade Manny.

It is kind of shocking [X(]

I was sure they were going to give the southside a run for their money.

Hey, it could be worse.

I grew up a Mets fan, where my team was always in second place, in its home city.

Then I moved to Kansas. The only thing the Royals can win since 1985 is the first draft pick.

You have it pretty good as a Sox fan.

I'm a Sox fan too (as in White) and must say that I am loving life today!

I have to admit though that I thought it was very cool for the Red Sox to take the Series last year.

REAL pain is being a Pirate fan; oh, the desolation!!

Shaun, I am sorry about your Sox, but just think of the many Sox fans who never got to see the Curse come to an end!!

As for the White Sox, I am happy for them. I am partial to the old franchises and am hoping for a Cards-Sox series.

We are working through the droughts it seems - with the exception of the Indians - Red Sox win the whole thing last year - first since 1918; White Sox win their first post season series since 1917 - and since Arnold Rothstein was murdered scant years after 1919, it is safe to assume the Sox won't throw this one if they make it in lol.

Cubs.... *sigh* 1908: How many Popes? Presidents? Wars?
The last series THEY won as all of you know was against the Red Sox!!

So IF the White Sox win the Series, then, working forward again, Cleveland's drought of no World Championship since 1948 will end within two years. Then, my beloved Bucs will win again, with better uniforms and NO disco music in the BEST park in the Majors!!

[Note that being a Pirate fan means writing tangential posts lol... and please do not tell me I should root for the Steelers... I hate football, so there is no joy in Steeltown for me.]

Pirates win it all!!..... in 2079!!

Well, I am pleased that I'm not the only Pirate fan in this forum.

Don't take it too hard, Shaun -- the Bucs' season ended in June! [:(]
