start-up error

I have re-installed the game a couple of times and I'm still getting this error when I start puresim. This message pop-ups before the game appears.

"Unable to load user.xml.
Document must have a top level element
010"

After I click ok it goes into the regular menu. When I load an association everything seems to work until I sim games. It will sim one days worth of games (even if you ask for a week, or a month or a season) and then show the following days games. From that point the game is locked-up and no longer playable.

Document must have a top level element

That typically means there is a corrupt file. Here is what I would suggest:

1. UnInstall any previous version of PureSim that you have (don't worry it won't remove your associations)

2. Install the gold version to its default location

3. Reboot

4. Launch the game and try again

The fix you suggested work ... for awhile.
I'm having the same problem again, only this time there is no error message, the game just locks up.
The game sims one days worth of games and then goes to the "game" page where it becomes almost inoperable. If you start quick-simming the games individually the game becomes completely inoperable after the last game and then lists a run-time error.
It has done this with 2 associations, both of which are in Sandbox mode.

Shaun,

When uninstalling the gold version, the associations and the entire folder do in fact become deleted.
