Warning on 1.7beta! Attn Mike Wood

Allied air units that transfer and have damaged aircraft left behind in a fragment.
The fragment will vanish by the next turn. Planes and pilots are gone!
My PBEM opponent has told me that some have appeared at some of his airbases.
The fragments do not appear on the air unit menu.
Anyone using 1.7 beta, do not transfer partial airgroups that would leave a fragment behind.
They will be gone from your control by the next turn!
This needs to be looked into ASAP!

The group that is being transferred, is it named xxxxx/A/2?.
In other words, a fragment of a split group.
And there is no xxxxx/A on map ie split group has been rebuilt.

Not only do the fragments vanish, the original unit (unit from which the fragment originated) will not accept/receive replacements.

This related to the "Fragments showing in enemy base".
The problem is whenever you load a saved game, the load routine seems to be making the fragments Japanese.
This made it look like a conversion to 1.7 problem. But I just loaded up a save from a scenario I started today, and all my Allied fragments have gone to Osaka.
[Of course, during testing I was doing H2H and never needed to save and reload. Me bad..]
I have sent off a save to Mike, explaining problem.

I assume you are only referring to Allied replacements.
If a replacement comes in as a fragment, and you subsequently save and load the game, the repplacement fragment will end up in Osaka.
My normal units are taking replacements in or near a 20K base.

I'm pretty sure this is not an issue that appeared with 1.70 beta. I noticed it during a turn under 1.604. Or rather I noticed an anomaly that could only have been produced by having an allied air group in Japan. I didn't realize what the problem was and I changed over to 1.7 to solve the freeze problem I was having.
I am posting this only in the hope it may help Mike Wood isolate the problem sooner by not assuming it is an issue with changes introduced under 1.7. Maybe I'm missing something but that's how it looks to me right now.

I'm getting this problem too. Never thought to check until I saw it here. Does this mean squadrons are going to be disappearing now that I'm getting pilots for them or what?

I've never had this issue with WITP till the 1.7b patch.[;)]
Allied fragments are are becoming Quislings![:D]
The work around is to not transfer airgroups that have ANY damaged aircraft.

This is going to seriously slow down my game checking for fragments before saving. Anybody keep playing with 1.7b using this workaround and find it okay?

Will this fix repair a damaged save or is a roll back the only solution?
BTW Thank you for the quick responce to this problem.

Had this problem in 1.604. A Nell fragment showed up in Allied held Singapore. Seemed related to recombining the subgroups of AVG into full AVG in Rangoon while damaged fragments of subgroups A and B remained in Singapore. Rolled back and restarted. This time did not recombine subgroups til all ready and damaged a/c in the AVG were in Rangoon. No problems with Quislings since.

I'm not sure - your best bet is to run the new version and see if it resolves the issue. We're having a problem at the moment getting the file to the Members' Club, but here are the release notes from Mike:
1) Allied air group fragments were being transferred to Japanese command and sent to Osaka, when ever the game was loaded. Fixed.
2) Sometimes Allied or Japanese air group fragments would appear at enemy bases. Fixed.

Hi
fragments from split groups which had been rebuilt, appear to be reason for this "Quislings".
That is the reason that groups can no longer be split/built if there are any fragments.
