First kill, Hurricane IB vs a Stuka

still learning the controls and how views and what not work, so hopefully I can get some better shots later (if interested)
but this looks interesting
you can plot your missions and then fly or just watch, almost like a BoB campaign game that you can jump into
Battle of Britain II, wings of victory

oh I was trying to get a little close, to show the detail, as I not sure about the veiw system
I never had BoB 1 so not sure how much 2 is like it, but from most posts, it is suppost to have a great campaign system
I am sort of lost so far in air to air, and I am pretty good at flight sims
but I getting used to it, got to figure out what is wrong, I still getting a lot of crashes, and most report the crashes are gone ?

Is this one as good as/Better than Rowan's? My Copy of RBOB got FUBARed, so I'm looking to pick this baby up, in addition to Pacific Fighters.

okay I confused a bit, I thought it was Rowans release, but I guess it is shockwaves ?
but the box says it is based on Rowans BoB
hopefully I can find what is making it crash in the UI, as the flight and mission/campaign looks great
I right now only in the single missions, training
got to read the manul tonight and see what I can do in the morning

first day as the GE Commander, starting on July 10th
made some raids vs a Convoy, then sent out raids to Dover Radar
what ever reason, I kept getting the Stuka to fly !, I missed the ships when I attacked, but I did knock off lots of wood with my gun fire
later on during the day, I did Cripple Dover (2 raids)
couldn't firgure out how to drop the bombs the first time, then had too much speed during the dive and dropped long in the 2nd
but did take out the HQ building, damage a few Masts and chopped up some trucks
a Cane put some holes in my body, but was able to dance and get away, it is interesting to have a Cane do a zoom climb, right over top of your cockpit
the next raid, I think I drove the Spits crazy, I can make the Stuka dance, even got a pot shot off once, but he was too far away
but over all, first day, the GE knocked down 21 GB fighters, while the GB took down 10 Stukas, 7 109s and 2 110s, so 19-21 !
I be trying to plot some raids with my 110s, 2 heavy bombs and 4000 rounds of ammo, I should be able to hit something

I'm on the fence with this one. I've been checking out the Gmx forum and it appears many are having problems with bugs and CTDs. Think I'll wait a while.

Interesting guys.
I have read nothing on this game.
Explain it to me;
Is it a strategy game that you can also participate in the missions you plot?
Do you have critical industries etc like BoB?

do you remember 1942 ?
it is sort of like that, but this one you can plot all of the raids, then while the raids are running, you can jump into the action, which it has pretty good detail, and the flight model does not seem too bad, plus you can adjust almost all of the settings, to get it to work the way you want (a detailed Sim, or a arcade action game
the plotting side of the game is looking pretty good so far, lots of detail and options
yes it has factories, and airfields, and radar and what evers
only nitpicks so far are from the manual, if they get little details wrong there, what did they do to the game ?
they say the GB fighters have to Split S to dive, it is a wingover, not a Split S (the beginning is the same, but it is different)
the GE flew in a Schwarm, which was a finger four formation, well, no, the Schwarm is the unit size, the finger four is what the unit flew in
the history, which is written by a guy who has written 12 books on the BoB, states, that the WWI, lasted 5 years
also, talks how the GB fighters could out roll and out turn the 109, there is still debate on if a good pilot flew both planes, which plane could out turn which plane, but, by all accounts, the 109 could out roll both the Spit and the Cane (main reason the Split S was the main escape move of the 109 and 190 though out the war, they could out roll all the planes that they fought against (until the 47 came along, and the 190 was still the better roller)
but that is still just nitpicking
game is looking very impressive

I'm sticking with EAW for the time being. The resolution is low but the model seems pretty good and it can support massive numbers of planes in the air at the same time.
Keep lawn darting 109's though.......[X(]

European Air War?
I have that and like that.
I must admit though i'm CRAP at flight sims. Very crap

EAW was the last Flight Sim I played.
The last one I enjoyed was "Air Warrior III". I even went on-line to play that once or twice.

The 109 is a bear for me to fly...course i also always insist on putting the flight model on max realism. Too used to Microsoft's all too forgiving flight model [:-] (lol....once TRIED to spin a Corsair into a fatal dive using CFS2 and couldn't do it.....hell even landed a Zero once who's engine had blown off the airframe using that turkey)
must remember....cant throw the flight stick into a tight turn....109 not like....uncontrollable spin leads to lawn dart.....I owe the Luftwaffe alot of Deutchmarks
EAW is amazing....wish i had more time to actually play a simm. (also own IL-2 FB but have yet to play it outside of toying with it)
So many planes.....really puts you into the feel of the subject matter.....big bomber streams. After reading up recently on the BoB, want to try flying a Zoerestor as German and see how long it takes me to die. Circle of shame.....here i come!!!!!

Well, guess the flight model on the 109 is pretty bad then, in EAW
you can't flat spin a 109, and any stall/spin is very easy to break out of in the 109, in fact, it was a easier plane to get out of a spin, then the Cane or Spit (which they were good planes to unspin too, just too a lot of Alt to do so)
been ages since I played EAW
still got it on my table top here
I did have a guy with 300+ kills
(game was easier from the GE side, many more targets to chose from

Not sure its the model....probably me. Like i said, i've been too used to "aces of the Pacific/over Europe and then CFS2 and getting away with yanking the stick around left and right. Keep stalling my planes and spinning. The 109 tempermental-ness didn't strike me as being unreasonable since tight turns are not it's strong suite. It might also be that i either didn't have enough altitude to pull out of the spin or else i'm doing something else wrong to get out of it.
Maybe i just like being a lawn dart. [:D]

Trust me I would be worse. I just can't fly in sims (or in real life for that matter).
I even went to the extent of buying a £60 force feedback Joystick when I bought PF. Didn't help me at all [:D]

Ahhhhhh
I loved them Aces games, those were great
didn't really care for CFS I/II/III but played alot of missions in them, didn't like the feel of them
(LOL liked the debrif in CFS II, it tell you how many rounds you had fired and how many hit, I would end a mission and get 6 Zeroes, and then seen that I had a hit rate of 2% !!!!)(then try and chase down a bomber, so you could put some long bursts into them, just to build your hit rate up for your carreer !!!)
Well, I guess, I am known as a stall fighter, so I am used to pushing the plane all the way to knife edge, so I guess I got a feel for when I am pushing too HARD or not enough
overall, it sounds like you may be a little too ruff with your stick, you got to be gentle, and smooth with it
you might want to check out the "the last days" fourm here, I got a number of posts and pics from IL-2/TLDs
