Nuetral Minor Forces

Playing 1792 scenario with 2.14 as Russia. I defeated Poland. Three Polish generals continue to sit in Krakow symbolized by a Polish flag. They have not joined Russia and they remain in Krakow. When clicked on they are identified as a nuetral force.

Also, Finland was ceded to me after defeating Sweden. There is a Finnish Army sitting in Finland with units attached. They have not joined Russia, nor have they disbanded. Again when clicked on they are identified as a nuetral force.

Are these examples of a bug or are these forces supposed to exist? I would think that they would be controlled by Russia or disbanded by the AI. BTW I would love for the generals to join Russia.

They'll continue to exist, mate. It's not a bug. They don't cost you anything...they just keep catching your eye.

I've seen a host of dip's (diplomats, I thought) staying among the neutral forces in a minor.

If you manage to get these minors onside, those will be their starting forces: so you could get those generals fighting on your side.

Try making Poland and Finland protectorates. You should be able to get any generals and fleets/ships. Armies are inconsistant; sometimes I get them sometimes they vanish.

Hmm. A pretty enticing feature of this patch's. Even better if the new protectorates' stockpiles of commodities can be added to our nation's.
