I've never tried to play 1944 campaign. What for? It's a kind of tutorial scenario for Soviets - whatever they do they'll win. Germans - whatever they do they'll loose. There are much more interesting and balanced scenarios and campaigns

Hi has any one else played this scenario. Morphy you wrong that as the germans you all ways lose. its possible to acheive at least a draw when playing the computer.
Any way i have tried this scenerio many times . my tactic is pull back in the north and center picking off advancing soviet units and avoiding attritional fighting . I've tried extending the game into 1946 and still i can not win. Does any serious player think its possible to beat the computer in 1946.

How do you prolong game to 1946??? Isn't the game supposed to end up in July 1945?
And how do you stop allies in west and south? The game manual says they're unstoppable.

No, impossible. You can win in the sense of successfully defending Germany and avoiding an unconditional surrender. Of course you cannot take the war back into Russia. You control the skies with the Me-262 and your tanks are marginally better, but the Soviet manpower is so great, their squad pool only grows.
Personally I like to use August 1945 as the endgame date: A-bomb dropped on Hiroshima, - as more would have surely followed.

By creating 4-5 (incl as many SS div as possible) strong firefighter army corps (135+ points strong) it is easy to defend on the east front. What is hard for me is to defend against allied bombing. The quality and quantity of the defending JGs drops quickly. As I see against the continous upgrades in fighter air-to-air combat numerical superiority still plays a great part. It is not sufficient to have more fighters, you also have to take care to have 100+ JGs, which is quite hard. If someone wants I can send my save in 44 dec.

Initiate a "second Fighter Emergency Program" by switching ALL your factories to Me-262 production as soon as the plane becomes available. You can have 100+ production, enough to convert a fighter group every other turn. Me-262s even at 40 exp do alright vs. all but the best Allied planes, and they quickly rise into the 80s. About 400 defending Me-262s with exp 40 is normally sufficient to turn back all the bombers. If you're reluctant to switch most/all factories, the FW-190A is also reported to perform rather well.
