Question About Ship Classes

This is from the editor manual:
Certain ship classes must be left in their assigned slots as follows:
- Japanese Ship Classes need to be located in slots 1-171 and
501-1199.
- Allied Ship Classes need to be located in slots 172-499 and
1200-1999.
These devices can be altered, but they should never be moved.

Okay I understand that Japanese ships need to be in slots 1-171 and their upgrades in slots 501-1199 and that it says they should never be moved but will I run into any problems if I do move them but within their slot ranges?

Certain ship classes need to be left in their slots.
For instance, the slot containing the Essex CV class is the class that respawn Allied CVs come back as. If this slot was changed to a BB, then the respawned unit would be a BB.

The AK conversion use specific slots as the class to convert to.
