number of divisions in an army

Are there new rules for how many divisions we can put in an army? In ver1.1 we could put 8 per corps, plus around 4 more directly in the army counter, 29 or 30 in total. Now I can only manage to accommodate a total of 21 divisions, no matter how I sort them.

you may of had part of a bug

it should be 7 to a corp, and 3 corps to a Army, but I don't think 3 full Corps will fit

I seem to only be getting 20 into a Army

which over all, you may want to just add to full Corps to the Army and then just fill the other 6 into the Army

(you also need one of the upgrades)

Version 1.2 has made obvious improvement by eliminating the hassles you would ever experience in the process of moving divisons across corps counters, whether they be of army formations or not, in earlier versions. Now, you can have three of six-division-strong corps (as full corps) in an army, seven divisons per corps to be possible after the training of Corps System is completed. France always enjoy a single additional division per corps of hers; that said, she can have at most eight divisions (with Corps System in place) under a corps command, as in 1805. Nonetheless, an army counter can contain at most 21 divisions in total, regardless of how to distribute such 21 units across the corps and under direct army command. And France is no exception to this D-21 stricture.

Looking forward to other replies to further enrich my repository of knowledge. [:'(]

are you sure ?
I can only fit 19 div into a French army, and I can only get 7 into a corp

my game started in 1792 ?

I have a over 6 armies that are set up like this one, and I can't add any more to the corps or army

I got single corps running around the board with 7 divs in them

I didn't seriously play this scenario; did you have Corps System in place yet?

For me, I can have one corps at 7 and the other with 6 or less. I can't get the full bill. However, I'm finding one army with two corps works just as well as having three corps. Go figure[8|]

Why do your mileage so vary? Because, I guess, you are not playing France with the fruit of Corps System.

Limits vary by scenario for France. In 1805 scenario, France has a maximum army size of 20, base maximum corps size of 7 (not counting "corps system" upgrade.) In 1792, France has the same limit as other nations: viz., 6 in a corps and 18 in an army. Also note that an army can have no more than 8 units directly attached to it.

Ralegh had been saying that it's possible to sneak an extra division if you manipulate the divisions and corps just right -- this is probably how you got one more than the normal army limit in 1792 for France.

yea, but I got the corps system upgrade ?

well, remember all the times I kept asking how many Divs are suppost to go into a Army

oh well, my 19 Div Armies are kicking, so not real hassle out side of what the rules are

My 1805 France version is 1 army + 3 corps = 21 divisions, without any manipulation which I remember I have ever made.
