How to Test Scenarios?

I've been making changes to a full campaign scenario and would like to ask HOW would I perform tests to see if changes I put in work for items which won't be around when the game starts?
If someone could possibly help walk me through this I'd greatly appreciate it. I don't want to have to play 8-10 months to get to where the item shows up only to find out it's not working like I want.
Thanks.

I've never done this, but just throwing this out here - why not temporarily change the starting date of the scenario from december 7th to the day after whatever it is you want to show up shows up?
Probably that wouldn't work and would screw several things up, but it's all I can think of. If it's a ship air, or ground unit you can just look at it in the reinforcements list. It won't change.

Have you tried running an AI vs AI game when you're sleeping or at work?

Make 2 test scenarios that are easy to edit...Tutorial is easy scenario to edit. One with original values and other with changes. Then run combat in scens for comparison several times. You can then change the dates and units very easily. That's how I test how my changes work with game mechanics.

Using the tutorial doesn't work since it doesn't include all the bases.
I tried changing the date on both the full campaign and the one that starts on 8 December but they BOTH start off with running the first turn when I just want it to pop up so I can test my changes. I should say I changed the start date in the scenario editor to 8 December 1944.
Come on people please help - there's got to be an easy way to set up a test scenario without having to spend 15-20 minutes resolving the first damn turn every time. I want to test bomb loads for B-29s bombing Japan and I don't know HOW to do it so will someone tell me how.
Do I set up a completely EMPTY scenario and place only the units I want placed or what?

Set "Historical First Turn" to "off" in the Options Screen. That'll take you directly to the Orders Phase.
If you only want to test one or two changes, like B-29 loads, my recommendation would a limited map scenario. Define a few Japanese bases as targets, and then Saipan or whatever as the base for the Superforts.
