Identify The Photo 80

Do you know the name of this War Ship, it's the USS, ahhhhh, I'm not sure?

Correct I think[&:]

But I think I wanted wanted to say the Saratoga or maybe the Rochester. If it wasn't scuttled in 1941 to avoid capture by the Japanese it could have been renamed again as any other large city in New York State[:D]

Oops... yep, I see where it was renamed Rochester in 1917 after being renamed Saratoga in 1911, but she was definitely launched as the New York.

She had the fate of my WPO command, the Armored Cruiser Colorado that got renamed Pueblo when someone decided to start reserving state names for battleships [:D]
