Effect(s) of port or air base supply hits

Hi- When Combat results shows, for example,"1 airbase supply hit or 2 port supply hits" what does this mean? Is it a % of supplies destroyed, or a finite number destroyed, or are supplies damaged? If I'm the Allies playing against the AI, can I track the diminuation of supplies at an enemy base in any way other than damage not being repaired? What I'm trying to get at is intel that tells me I can invade or use a different type of LCU attack , with enemy units resisting at less than 100%. I did a search, but came up blank. Thanks, Hugh Browne

I believe it is the % of supply lost. In your example it would be 3% supply lost.

It almost works out that way. Each hit destroys 1% of remaining supply. So there is an ever decreasing pool that is hit. I.e. - if you have 100,000 supplies, and get a hit on supply, then 1,000 supplies are destroyed. Second hit gets 1% of 99,000 supply, or 990 supply, leaving you 90,100 supplies. Etc. Not sure about how things get rounded when you get fractions of supplies hit.

rtrapasso- OK, thanks to both you & Mike- I now understand how it works. But, how do I tell if a particular base has 10, 20 or 100K supplies? By this I mean, where do I go to look at the # of supplies left? BYW, Fog of War is off. Thanks, HB

Not sure how you would do it for the enemy (since i've never played with FOW off) unless you set the game to head to head. For the side you are playing, check the base info screen (on left hand side, about 1/2 way down).

Since you're playing against the AI, you can just load the game up in head-to-head mode and you have full access to view any of the "opponent's" bases, etc.

Would not recommend this as a gameplay tactic (AI is easy enough to beat anyway), but if you're trying to get a better handle on game mechanics it can be useful.
