______Tigers of Armee Group North*
*
______Germany Vs Soviets*
______German Defend*
*
______Near Leningrad*
______22 Nov 42*
______Turns: 15*
______Scenario Size: Small*
*
__Designed by Dragoon 45*
*
German Orders: Herr Hauptman, 3rd Company of the 1st Regt of the SS Polizi Division is expecting a heavy attack this morning. Take your two operational Tigers and help them hold their positions. If you don't hold, our whole position along the Leningrad Front may become untenable. No Artillery is available, but you will have mortars in support.*
*
Soviet Orders: Comrade Colonel, Drive the Fascists out of their positions. They hold the only high ground in the area and are sitting astride one of the roads to our comrades surrounded in Leningrad. We must break through and relieve our comrades in Leningrad. If you cannot take the position do not come back. You will have a battalion of artillery in support as well as mortars. The small river in front of you is shallow so you should be able to cross it anywhere.*
*
Designer Notes: This scenario is based on incidents that occurred during the Seige of Leningrad. After their initial deployment on the Leningrad Front, the Tigers of the 502d Schwere Panzer Abteilung formed a fire brigade that moved from threatened sector to threatened sector. Often times, the Tigers were the only thing that stopped Soviets. For further reading: Sledgehammers by Christopher Wilbeck and Tigers in Combat I by Wolfgang Schnieder.*
