Couple Questions for More Advanced Modders

I'm trying to make some modifications to a scenario and have a few questions I hope someone out there can answer for me.
First, what ship slots are used for respawning ships? And how can I block them? Put dummy ships in the slots or what?
Second, since this is just for me and the AI I'm tired of having my carriers configure in 1944 to an air wing configuration which is more than the 90 planes. So, if I change my Essex/Ticonderoga class carriers from 90 to 120 or something I have these questions:
a) I think I remember reading somewhere where if someone did that it was best to put the max planes in the squadron descriptions in the editor and what values would I use? An F6F squadron would go from 36 in 1943 to 40 in early 1944 to 42 in late 1944 and back down to 36 in 1945.
b) I forget off hand, but would I need to up the capacity on the other carriers also? I only have had problems with my Essex carriers but don't know if others have had problems with the other classes.
