guerilla stops production

It seems that even 1 guerilla unit in a province will stop production?

Spain AI moved a single guerilla unit into Ille de France (actually there are some 25 guerillas on the map in various places - another gripe of mine) and stopped all production despite my heavily garrisoned and fortified city AND my army units in the province. They also did it in Marseilles and elsewhere.
What is up with that?!

Also, Guerillas are 'freeing' Turkish POW's inside my home provinces. They don't seem to release their own countrymen or English but some turks are being 'saved.' Notable when the Turkish POW is moving from one home province to another which has or may have a guerilla move into it at the same time.. The moving of a guerilla INTO a turk POW that has not moved doesn't trigger the event.

Guerillas are also seiging cities - since when did they have the training or equipment to do that against heavily garrisoned and fortified cities?! Seems even 2 or 3 guerillas can do this.

I've also had guerillas form line in detailed combat.

This whole guerilla thing is just getting too stupid for 'something' that should remain in the home country and be a supply nuisance. In reasearching battles of the period, most notably Marshall Soult in Spain against British and Spanish armies where "guerilla mobs" were present, they had almost no impact on anything. They did; however, become quite a nuisance to LOC's within Spain. They never had training and rarely even had muskets.

This is version 1.2.14

I've never seen a guerilla problem as bad as you describe before...Cossack, YES, I've suffered Cossack infestation many a time, but guerillas, Spanish or otherwise, I have never really had to deal with before.

Sooo...the only advice I can tell ya is what I had to do to deal with Cossacks...you pretty much have to use a small Army or Corps to engage them in battle...AND (this is important) have single divisions in all surrounding provinces to cut off retreat after battle.

Just like Cossacks, one is enough to halt unit production...but not the economic production.

Guerillas are supposed to be extra good at sieges. Triple value in fact (see "Siege Rules" pg. 19). So that aspect is actually working as designed. Although, logically, that bonus really should only apply to cities in the guerillas' home territory.

In fact guerillas really should somehow be limited to their home territory, period, IMO.

I thought that it was now impossible to free POWs when you got them back to one of your own provinces... Bug?

I have never seen more than 2 or 3 guerrilla units... I hope it is only in v1.2.14, because 25 seems way too many, and I agree that they should only operate in their nations original home provinces.

I'm playing 1.216 as France. I have fought two wars now vs Spain and have only seen 2 or 3 guerilla units. They did not lay seige, but only distrupted production.

gdp you might try using 1.216. It might solve some of the issues your having and decrease your frustration.
