Just out of curiosity, is there a way to let the turn run on its own, similar to WitP ?

Just seems very time intensive to have to actively participate in the entire turn sequence.

I got this a year ago, but struggle to play for this reason, though I didn't spend alot of time with it.

if you are playing BTR as the Allies, then yes you can let the turn play out on it's own. However, this is not recommended as you will miss too much valuable intelligence, ie whether or not you planes hit the target, where the enemy flak is heavy, where the Axis launch planes from and what types they have.

Pity they can't incorporate that type of info into a combat/intelligence report. There are similar (though lessor) issues in WitP. Yes it is nice to have the option of watching a turn, but would be equally nice having the option not too, without giving up a whole bunch of intell.....
