run time error 429

can someone help me with this, fresh install after dload, and when I try and load the game from game menu I get............ 'run time error 429, ActiveX component cant create object'. Got the latest DirectX (9.0c) and I play other games such as Links 2003 which require 3-D rendering/acc. so the comp can handle it. Cant even load the friggin game after spending the money [:@] [&:] !!!! HELP!!!

Well I don't think DirectX matters in this situation. Sounds to me like you need to go out and get some Windows Updates, might have a problem with your ActiveX and need to load a patch from Microsoft.

I'm not sure why this is happening. My copy had been running fine for a few weeks, then all of a sudden I got this error also. I went back and reinstalled v1.00 and then reinstalled v1.2. The game now starts properly. I have no clue what the cause was.

Got it worked out..........somehow the DAO360.dll file went missing and I did a regsrv to get 'er back. Game running fine now!
