OP Fire and Faith

Was I confused? Was this a hallucination? I always went on the faith that OP Fire was being conducted by the computer during the A1's turn. While getting sleepy during a turn against the A1 I hit the left mouse button and saw my dudes shooting. While I'm just learning some of the new features to SPWAW I could not find any hard evidence in the manual that say's if I'm suppose to take part during the opponents move. Or does the computer fire for you during OP Fire when the opponent is further than 1 space. Maybe all I'm seeing is the long term version to the enemies turn? Kinda like when you put Fast Artillary on and off. Does OP Fire work the same way in an PBEM game? Internet Play? Full of Questions! I hope all the times I had my back turned to the computer while doing dish's I haven't missed my opportunity to kick it's butt one more time.

I set the OP fire to zero after I didn't think it was doing anything then I noticed missing ammo, theifs or they were really shooting back. Do you get the chance for OP Fire during a PBEM game?

Yes, opfire is carried out automatically during PBEM.
Personally, setting opfire confirm to zero was probably the first thing I did upon downloading the game. It is simply a ridiculous level of micromanagement which I don't want to deal with, in my humble opinion.

The manual has not been updated since this feature was added. If you have message delay (?)set to XXX and you are on a fast computer (>500 MHz or so), the fire goes so fast that you may not see it.
