Goliath wins...

Today, I lost faith...I pre-ordered EA Sports' NFL Headcoach for the PS2, it WILL get released this Spring. I am still planning on buying MF when it comes out, as toting my laptop around when I travel is easier than my PS2. I only found out about MF last December, I can't imagine how all you who have been waiting since 1999 for this thing lasted this long. I held out as long as I could. I know that the EA game will satisfy me in the short term, but I do hope this game comes out before next season so I can run the league that I want to run. I'll check back in April.

Don't feel bad.
I've been waiting around for this title since i first heard about it.More than a year now,but not as long as some here.I'm not buying anything else though. It seems to promise to offer what i want in a football game.If it is ever released.
I just want a nice simple game that is about football, which is something i haven't found since the Tecmo series left the market.I never did play some of the games often brought up here, but the promise of this game is enough to help me keep the faith that arcade style football games are not the only option out there.

I'm not trying to bump my own thread, but I'm officially eating crow. EA bumped their release back to June something, depending on what site you check (there is no date on the official site). This genre is kicking everyone's ass. Anyway, like I've always said, I just KNOW that David and Matrix will get this game out before EA![;)]

I am not sure what NFL Head Coach is supposed to be. It doesn't look as flexible as one would want in a simulation. From the screenshots, it looks like the game asks questions, and the player answers back with a keypad stroke. Ack! It is a console game!
Maximum Football should be out this month, while NFL Head Coach is looking like a Spring '06 release.
Could someone please pass David that stone for his sling.

This is the part that made me laugh. Why would you pre-order a game that will eventually hit the shelves? I can see if it's a downloadable game. Or if you are saving a ton of money by pre-ordering. But what other reason could there be? Do you think you won't be able to buy one? Yeah, great.....buy it now buddy, we'll send it to you in about 6 months.
This reminds me of one of the Fbpro games. I can't remember which one. The game hit the shelves and there were many people who still did not recieve their pre-ordered game LOL!!!! Always a good laugh when a fool takes it on the chin.

Too be fair, neither product can make that claim really. The 1999 edition of Sierra's Front Page Sports was fully 3D and was strategy football. Ignoring the problems and eventual recall. I think it's fair to give them the "first ever" award on that one.
Besides, I think the they're talking about "first 3D sports stragey game for console".. who knows.. I'm sure the marketing staff for that project has never looked beyond their own walls.

But hey, I'm not saying you probably shouldn't contact their marketing department and let them in on the secret that they're not even close to being the first

I'll usually only pre-order if there is a special offer, but I was returning a game that didn't work on my PC to EB Games and they didn't have anything in the store that interested me. You win some, you lose some...
