Hi all,I noticed something strange playin' Desert Fox MC.When one of my experienced ,loved crew blows up and burns in the iron of its tank and noone survives, the next battle the game doesn't give me a new crew,or better, doesn't give me a crew with a name of its officer,so i always have to imagine an appropriate name for a german guy.....This seems to be a bit strange, cause spwaw never acted in this way.......any ideas?
thanks

When all the crew from a tank dies (if there is one left, that one is always the officer), a new crew will appear in the next battle with different values for morale, experience etc.
I also use to rename those crews and give names like Sgt Kesselring, 1st Lieutenant Guderian, etc.
If I'm in a sportive mood I'll go for Cpt. Beckenbauer, Sgt. Klinsmann, Sgt. Becker, etc.

well, one crew that survived explosion of their Sherman did change their leader name from my custom. But I think that former leader was sent to hospital. It took two turns for me to find that crew as they ran into barrage...
Others who did lost their tanks but survived, were given new tanks and their name were same as I had edited.
I did get a draw and lost from 6 tanks all but one... Next battle OUCH !! but somehow I did get it home
more of that later in my Long Long Road -AAR...
I did note that bailed out crews carried custom names while they retreated, but not all. Two halfie crews had lost their leaders and by so in command was second best. ? LOL.
Infantry did get fixed automatically, with all prefs ON. Should they do that? I have reduced squads On.
mosh
and tested with 7.1beta from 12.01-02

Well it semms to me that all your crews survived Sukko! You're lucky. The problem arises when my crews gained to bail out of their burning tanks but get killed after few steps by some infantry or whatever. The killed crews are not substituted by others. For example:the tanks F1 has Stg Steiner,if i remember well. When stg.steiner gets killed with his men in action, the next battle the tanks F1 is correctly playing in my core force, but the crew has no name and no value,i mean 0,0,0,0,.Anybody have noticed the same?
thanks

Yep, sure have.
Early in my campaign I was a bit reckless and lost several vehicles and crews. I now have about a half dozen of nameless, ratingless unit commanders.
I haven't lost any squads fully so I don't know if it happens with infantry, but I can vouch for tanks, scout cars, and halftracks. And worse, you cannot edit the name because it's not there to edit!

so I'm not the only one.....that's a bit encouranging^__^
The point is that those crew without any fighting value improove during the campaign, but they just got decent too slow!!!after 3 battles of hard fighting they get an average value of 15,which is not that good!!
