CLOSED AAR, sentries have been posted at the doors with orders to shoot TommyG on sight!
First turn rules
Unhistoric first turn.
1)No port attacks other than Pearl Harbor allowed during turn 1 (No Manilla or Singapore)
2) No Japan landing that rounds Singapore to land at Johore and cut off Malaya from supplies.
3) Japan forces may land elsewhere than they historically did.
4) Allies cannot give orders to any ground or air units except for China Command units on turn one. Allies can give any construction or HQ change orders
5) Allies may only give orders to ships that are at sea already on turn one.
6) Weather in turn one is supposed to be clear during turn one. Major airstrikes that abort due to weather turn one trigger restart.
General rules:
PDU Rules - if playing with PDU on (which we are), no converting 2E bomber squads to 4E for allies. Similarly, Japan player must not load light bomb squadrons with heavy bombers.
ASW TFs max 6 ships until 1944, then 8
No rearming/refueling cap ships in port size less than 3.
PT boats must be in PT boat only TFs, unless needing replenisment ships when transferring long distance.
Japanese home defence units, Kwangtung army units, and China expeditionary units must pay political points to transfer to new HQ if they are to leave their respective areas. Air units in these areas may strike targets outside of their HQ area.
No skip bombing (sending medium-heavy bombers to naval attack at an altitude lower than 6K feet) until 1/43
Japan must garrison resources captured with units that have an assault value.
No allied carrier capable units (Marine squadrons) on carriers till 1/44
No creating Barges / PT Boats at bases smaller than 3 or that are behind enemy lines - cut off. It is unrealistic to have new PT boats magically appear at bases behind enemy lines without having to sail there and be subjected to enemy attack
1st turn went as normal I suppose, 4 BBs in pearl heavily damaged and probably sunk. He's already gone and violated the house rules by moving BBs out of pearl on turn one to the west coast, along with other ships in different areas. Gamey as hell, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because KB is in hot pursuit.[:)] Much shipping in the SCS gets beat on by Jap LBA. Clark field and Singers pummeled. Baby KB and a surface BB TF are south of Indochina waiting for shipping to come to them. Things I've done differently are reinfore the Malayan landings, cancel Legaspi and land in Mindanao, cancel Wake, and capture Canton. I have fighters and Kates on the way to Canton, along with aviation support and additional troops and supplies. After KB is done lurking around Pearl (probably 1-3 days from now) I plan on swinging her southwest (or at least a portion of her) around Hawaii to cover Canton. If I feel I can hold it a week or more from now I may move additional ac in and base cap ships there. We'll see
Production wise, I've converted all Nate production to Zeros. I've also halted Shinano and the 2nd Yamato.
Comments are wanted, as this is my first PBEM!
So what's everybody using to take screens?
