Whats better for space combat; Nexus or starshatter?

I have nexus but am interested in starshatter for some time now, just could never come to grips with the graphics in starshatter

.
I am a fan of realistic space combat representation - if you can call it that. Where the physics works properly from what people know of our own historical space exploration so far. Battlestar Galactica Viper combat is the closest I have seen to how I think space fighters would actually maneover in space combat thus far
I played the starshatter demo a while back and still stayed with Nexus and Homeworld2
Nexus is very good for capital ship battles and I was wondering if Starshatter stacks up now compared to a year ago? has anything improved and what is better than Nexus in starshatter especially pertaining to space combat
Opinions appreciated.....
If you have not played Nexus in order to give an opinion grab the demo

No word on features yet. The 4.0 release of Starshatter had a very compelling campaign and the Fighter combat was well done. The weakness were the capital ships. There wasn't much manuevering in combat, you had few choices other than to close to firing range and open up. It would be my primary issue comming from Nexus. Hopefully it will be improved on in Gathering Storm. We should hear more about it in the next month or so. I'd expect a demo to accompany release. [:)]

As a side note, did you try the full realism/physics options in Starshatter when you played it? It supports three different flight models, from arcade to full space and atmospheric physics (since it also allows fighters to go from orbit down to planetary missions).

I wouldn't straight compare SS with Nexus or Homeworld. They are all different genre, Nexus and HW are RTS games and SS is a space combat simulator spiced with strategy elements. It's up to player which genre he/she likes more. I prefer simulator. I'd like to see some more strategy development in SS, but let's not make this a wish list [:'(]
I like the capital ship battles in SS. It took me some time till I understood the strategy elements and how to use them in SS. I don't go anymore straight head to head with enemy with big guns blazing. I've learned a little how to use my ships in the fleet to ambush/trap the enemy and I'm slowly learning more.
