Nigh Bombing

I'm involved in a number of PBEW games, and I have used Night Bombing quite a few times, however, even with 50-100 planes, no damage is ever done. Now I know night attacks are not very accurate, however, they should hit something once in awhile. I've used both the Allied and Japenese in this regard. Is there a chance that this area could be tweaked in the near future or the next patch. Otherwise, you may as well not even have night bombing in the game as its useless the way it is. Some damage should be done, but there never is. This is against, cities, airfields and bases.. With all the bombs dropping, something should get hit once in awhile but it never does... this is in stock with the newest patch. I have quit using it at this point as its pointless let alone using night ftrs. What for, the bombers aren't going to hit anything anyway. Very disappointed in this area of the game....

In my PBEM my opponent insisted upon a house rule that prohibited night port attacks, saying they were too effective. Maybe you should try night port attacks?

Before the unfortunate end of my last (and first) pbem, my opponent had taken to night bombing in an attempt to knock out my a/f at Chunking. Every evening his bombers would come over and blast 3 or 4 a/c on the ground. It may be the version you are using. (We were using 1.795)

At the request of primarily Japanese players, night bombing was changed in one of the patches to be ineffective. It was apparently felt that allowing the Allies to use a historical tactic was unbalancing.

Well, the rule works for both sides. 40+ betties and nells flying night bombing against PM (overstacked with allied A/C). Results: 2-3 of my A/C destroyed, other damaged, with no loss for Allies.

I use the night bombing for training...if they hit something it's a bonus.

At the expense of re-opening a very long and argumentative thread, it has been pointed out that MASS night bombing in the Pacific Theater was neither historic nor possible until the advent of a/c (e.g. B-29) equiped with mapping radar and other electronic aids. This is not intended to belittle the accomplishments of specialist anti-shipping units (PBY Black Cats, late-war radar-equipped TBM) and specialist night-intruders (both Allied and Japanese).

nah, night bombing is still too efective for the Allies. Just bomb the same target several days in a row (with decent exp crew app 60) and you will be suprised with results.

i know i was - 2 bombing groups made totally ineffective, losing lots of aircraft with an exchange rate of about 5 to 1 (bombing as Allies). Of course, most of the time they wouldn't even fly.[8|][X(]

tks for the feed back. However, I would recommend some type of compromise in regards to, to effective vs, non effective, maybe assign a random factor where sometimes they hit somethingother times they don't, doesn't have to be a massive hit. Maybe set a max of 1-5 points of damage against bases, cities, ports, 1-3 against aircraft, ships etc.. just an idea. One must way both historical vs playability. In human vs human, both night bombing would go well with night fighters for both sides. A random factor might be the answer, sometimes boom, other times zilch

just an idea
I'm using stock, patch 1.60

My experience is totally opposit... every night i lost few ac on the ground and morale of the groups decreased.
Your experience is totally wierd to me - does the enemy had night CAP? Was CAP "regular" or night fighters? Are you bombing with 4E bombers? Your losses came from enemy CAP, AA fire or ops?
Anyway, in last patch bombers are more likely to damage enemy fighters, especially during the night... i'm talking from experience, too...
