ok here is the story.

back in 1.2, i start a game. the game goes on for like 6 months of game time, and then my opponent, in early may of 1942, tells me that he now has too much work to continiue playing, and that he has to quit. I then go on the forums, and find someone willing to take over. he does, until like july 1942, time at which he also decides he has too much work and apologizes profusely and quits the game. I then go here again to find A 3RD OPPONENT!! This guy seems ok, he complains about how much my previous opponents sucked, and in end of september 1942 quits. I sent a turn to him, 3 days later got a message from him saying he has a virus on his computer, turn should come "tomorrow"... well, it has been about 2 weeks since that "tomorrow". I have sent him numerous mails, and he has not replied...

so please, my next opponent, stay more than a month or 2, please!! if you would be willing to take over as the allies, here is the situation.

Japan: 2 battleships sunk, 3 CVs, 1 CVL, 1 CVE sunk
Allies: 6 battleships sunk (3 of them at pearl), 2 CVs sunk, 1 CVE sunk

airplane losses: japan: 3000 airplanes approx, allies: 4300 airplanes approx
troop losses: japan: 1200 pts approx, allies: 11000 pts approx

japan has a good defensive position set up. guadal is heavily fortified, level 4 airfield. 2 active airbases north of darwin. overall well dug in, waiting for the allied offensive. japan is occupying all of china, exept for 4 bases, which are defended amazingly strongly. So far any effort to take those bases has proved totally unsuccessful.

allies: I don't know much about what is going on there actually, but I know that in the past month their bombers have had fun demolishing anything valuable in burma, demolishing a lot of china, and even conducted 1 bombing raid on taiwan! the recently arrived new IJA fighters will hopefully temper them a little. my latest opponent said he was please with base supply and fuel distribution, but that his fighter cover was a little underwhelming, even if he had good bomber groups.

where will the allies strike next??

please join this game. It was fun (at least it is fun for me, and I hope for my opponent!) but may I ask you to stay more than 1 month??

my e-mail is guillaumelamothe@yahoo.com, mail me if you'Re interested. I would get you in contact with one of my previous opponent, who could give you the password of our game.

thank you,

Guillaume

Email Paul Martin... he'll have LOTS of time on his hands after next Monday...[;)]

More seriously, taking over someone else's game is not a lot of fun. I did it and learned a lot from it, but I'd much rather make my own mistakes in the future.

Good luck -

maybe taking over someone else's game is not fun, but neither is abruptly stopping a game that had been going on for like 10 months of game time (closer to a year of real time!) seriously i would really appreciate it if someone could take over this game!

Actually I think it IS fun. I did it couple times in UV and had great fun with games taken over from other players sometimes more than with my own games (ie games I started).

BossGnome maybe I would be willing to take over from your opponent. Can you have him send me the password? I won't promise you anything before I see the situation from the Allied side for myself. If your opponent did too many very VERY stupid things then I'll politely refuse.
