CV Air Fragments to Parent CV??

Hello all!
I have saved a CVL (Zuiho) from certain death after a Carrier Battle against Wolfpack. She has 67 Sys Damage and when hit, her Zeros and Kates bounced to Palmyra where I then docked and saved her.
My problem deals with getting the fragments back onto the CVL as she heads back to Japan for perminent repairs. Since her Sys Damage is greater then 50, they won't transfer back to her.
Does this mean I need to leapfrog/transport them back to Japan? Should I just leave them in Palmyra and then reunite them when Ziuho's damage is repaired? A little guidance here would help! Thanks...

Leave 'em and swing by once you get damage under 50% and they will rejoin.

Either that or chuck them on a passing AK or two.

I'd agree with that if there were not so many reports of things going strange ... personally, unless you are feeling lucky ... leave 'em put and let the game engine sort it out automatically when you have ready decks again.
Due to the nature of all the various things that can go wrong with these special air groups that get resized automatically on specific dates, there a many pitfalls that can get your undies in a twist ...

Which, I guess, answers my question. Suffice it to say that something screwy happened, and I won't worry about it because apparently these things happen.
Next time I'll know better than to mess with these stranded guys.
(BTW, I'm shocked I have a user ID here. It must be from my old Pacific War days. I'm new to WITP.)

Hi,
if you have only fragments on those islands and the parent units are still on board, you can "reunite" them by downgrade-upgrade method. That will automaticaly transport all those fragments to the parent unit regardless they are in the neighborhood or in the different galaxy.

Unfortunately the parent units are at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean along with the carrier they were on.[;)]

O.K., now I've got a problem. The remnants of some of the carrier based air from a sunk carrier lands at a nearby base. Eventually they get whittled down to only one plane (but 12 pilots) during combat and it apparently can't get any replacements. It's not worth keeping the group around for one plane, so I decide to move somewhere that has a squadron of the same type plane to disband it.
However, when I do that, when trying to disband I get the message that it can only be done at base that has the same type planes and the same nationality. This base does have American F4F-4's just like the unit I'm trying to disband, however one is a Marine unit and one is a Navy unit. I'm guessing that's the problem. All the land based F4F-4 units are Marines.
So here's the question: Now what do I do? If a carrier flying F4F-4 was in that hex would it allow me to disband and add the pilots to the carrier? I'd even be content to withdraw the group and let the pilots go back into the replacement pool at this point. They are pretty good pilots so I hate to waste them sitting in a squadron with one plane and no hope to get more.

Wow! I just noted this thread returning from the dead. I posted it over a year ago!
Should note that, in the same game, CVL Zuiho is STILL afloat and we are now in February 1944!
BANZAI!

Yeah, marines and navy dont mix. Use it to boost your navy fighter squadrons.
