Or would the plan simply not fly as a modded scenario

Actually yes. I am currently working on the French Navy, and when that's done I'd like to have War Plan Red, Red-Orange, and Gold scenarios. Might be hard to explain story wise, but hey, who needs background info? [:D]

Great news ... and I think, that players will create background story, if scenarios will be available ... so dont'n waste time with background [:'(]

I assume it will be set in the Pacific, right? Or are you going to blow me out of the water with a North Atlantic game[&o][&o][&o]

Actually Fisher was deag against the RN giving up its superiority to the USN and had not a few supporters. I'm sure something could be made of that...

Please, not War Plan Red. War Plan Red was the plan for the invasion of Canada. We northerners try not to dwell too much on the 1935 "War Plan Red"

Actually, Red was the plan for war with Britain; the plan for invading Canada was a subset of Red called War Plan Crimson.

edit: terminus beat me to the punch!
red is britain; crimson is canada - war plan red is against britain but includes neutralizing crimson/canada. it would seem the invasion of canada was mostly to keep britain at arms length and prevent them from using canada to wage direct war on the usa. sounds cool to me, especially since that would imply a map of the atlantic would be used!
even cooler would be that if that WERE the case, we'd probrably eventually in the far future see a WW II battle of the atlantic mod to a war plan red game!

This sounds brilliant. Is there any timeframe for this, please?

Speaking of Sir Jackie, it would be nice to see HMS Furious with her two 18" rifles. <hint-hint> [:)]

No specific release.... It would be a couple of months at the earliest.

actually tankerace, please answer this question: if there was to be a war plan red/crimson mod for WPO, would this be free? or would you charge a small fee (say 15-20 dollars US) as an expansion pack? or would this cost the price of WPO? Also, any plans to create a new map? Or use the existing one?
Actually I would have a good time trying to defend canada from the evil United States...

Well, the War Plan Red/Gold, etc I am talking about doing would all be free add on scenarios. This is mainly because I don't see (mainly because of the AI) doing an entirely new map. If I were to do an Atlantic game, I'd do more of a WWI game, and then build off that with the various Atlantic plans.
But yes, the new scenarios I'm talking about would all be free. The only way there would ever be a War Plan Red expansion that would be for sale would be if there was an Atlantic game. As with WPO I am constrained to the Pacific, I want to release more scenarios to further build off of it, and expand what we already have.

Bravo Tankerace, really good to see all the great mods you have in store for your title, just a quick question on the red-orange plan, can you see the Brits commiting there infantry in any landings or just mainly using the RN in back-up and protection role to the IJN when they do landings etc.

This sounds fantastic.
I can hardly wait. I am sure that this would generate enough interest to justify the time it would require and is another example of why this is the best supported game I have ever seen.
