Looking for a Japanese Player Nick Mod 5, WITP 1.602

I've currently got one game of WITP going with Andrew Browns Extended Map (restarted recently and only at Jan 41) and one game of UV thats been going for a over a year (we are in Feb 43). Yes I've had games that have ended, the ebay queen here eats my email by mistake, and somtimes I'm slow. I average 1 move per day but have done as many as 5 on a saturday or sunday, and i've missed 2-3 days at a time once in a while. I'm perhaps slow but I won't quit. Anyway, I'm looking for a Nick 5.0 game as the Allied and would like to try either of the two start dates. Unfortunately this requires the normal map.
As to house rules, I'm pretty open. I like quasi historical games. I like to set sub move to automatic so I can ignore them and let my opponent do whatever he likes. I'm OK with PDU, but don't like to change the groups much (keeping planes of the same type). I will dump buffalos for f4f4s if the f4f3s are in short supply and think it pointless not to skip to the better plane. I will also exchange 2e for 2e types and the like. However the PDU will help the japanese in the Nick mod because allied replacements are more limited but Japs get whatever they can produce.
I'd also be willing to attempt a multiplayer game, if someone else organizes it.

In the FAQ for Niks mod 5 he suggests you play with version 1.7 or above for the ASW changes.

Nomad, That is a very good point. Can anybody comment on whether or not the bugs in any of the 1.7 betas kill the game. {Nurfing the pilot pools or leaders?} I think I downloaded all of them over time and could reinstall. If I did so would you be interested in a game?

I have not tried it out, but it has been said that most of the problems with 1.795 stem from converting a 1.6 or 1.602 game. Games started with 1.795 do not experience the massive leader defections.

So would you be interested in a game with 1.795?

I am still waiting to see if I am able to maintain my internet connection. I am using a home made, high gain, highly directional antenna and there is a bunch of trees between me and the WiFi antenna I connect to. The trees are on National Forest land and right now there is 4-6 feet of snow around them. Even if I though I could cut them down without getting caught, I am not sure that I can snowshoe 1/4 mile in heavy snow carring a chain saw and then cut them down. [8|] My connection so far has been a bit sporatic. So, bottom line is, not at this time. [:'(]

Thanks for the comments Nomad, Perhaps another time we can try a game.
To everyone else, I'm open to 1.602 or 1.795 beta.

After reading Nick's post on Nick 5.0 and seeing that 1.77 is the current beta being supported, I'd modify my request for an opponent specifically for Nick 5.0 and witp 1.77 beta.
It been two hours and I have not gotten an opponent yet. I can't belive it!

OK, I'm really incompetent. I cant find 1.77 in the support pages only 1.795...so I retract my correction. I propose Nick 5.0 and 1.795.

regarding the bugs in the beta patch i have never encountered one other than the odd disapearing leader ( which happened anyway) BUT my jap oppenent was purged stalinesque like on turn 2 so had to halt that one ..
i tend to find that if you dont split up units all over the map things are a lot less buggy.
and good luck !

Rob, Thanks for the info. I also almost never divide anything, and change perhaps 10 leaders per month (mostly to git rid of real duds).
I've made three Allied moves in 24 hours in a pmb that still seems to go so slow. Does it get better after the first six months. Anybody out there using 2 or 3 day turns?

2 day turns are great imo .. far faster and lot more dicey as well. It does take a wee bit more getting used to and you have to sacrifice a bit of micro management BUT its well worth it
Never tried 3 day turns . but the AAR aztez vs e??? are doing 3 days turns and really enjoying it too. apparently makes for a very differant game.
