Hi guys,
Is there anyway to tell quickly what a province produces best or is it just trial and error?
Thanks,

On the development page for each province it designates what that province produces best. Some province produce two things best. This is listed in the lower middle of the page just under the sliders.
Developing buildings will also improve the production of each province. For instance if textiles is the best resource for a certain province then development of factories will improve textile production. Food in never listed as a best product. All food production is based on farms.
Also, from the main map, when you click on a province and the province information appears at the bottom, the top three produced resources for that province are listed.

Food production (the most important) is not based just on farms. Every province has an individual fertility rating. As noted above's, Ralegh's province cheat sheets will show you which provinces are the best breadbaskets.
It is counter-intuitive. One might expect that the provinces with the best forage rating are also the most fertile, but this turns out not to be the case.
