"The Maus that Roared" completed at last!

This has got to be my all-time favorite scenario, if merely for the nice eclectic selection of old, new and captured vehicles in the German side. I've played at least 4-5 times, but yesterday I finally came off victorious and frankly, it feels great!

It took me some attempts to figure out that the best way to secure every victory hex is to spread out and take the enemy on at a wide front, instead of skulking around taking potshots at them as they advance on the autobahn. The two stars of the match have to be the Maus V1 that took out 26 total units, 17 (I think) of which were tanks, and the lone Sherman that got a staggering seven T34 kills and and immobilized an IS-3 before it ran out of ammo.

Kinda goes to show what scenarios are good for: unique situations with unique forces.

Great scenario, one I've played many a time also. Congrats on the victory, Agamemnon!

Another favorite of mine and many other players you may wish to try is Wittman's Gamble (#339 in the game). Wittman's Revenge (340) was very good also.

Forgot to mention the closing scores were 12000-2000 for me. Total carnage, in other words, but I was sweating bullets when I noticed my panzers had out of AP, then the Maus nailed the last IS-III with a lucky HE round. Damn those things were tough, though.

I love this scenario as well. You probably have already seen these, but just in case you have not, here is a link to a lot of shots of the Maus in trials and mock-ups. Very cool stuff.
