Well I've never played as Japan, so take what I say with a big pinch of salt....[:D]
What scenario and whats the date?
Two things jump out at me:
1, You could use more Armament points in the pool - it seems on the low side to me.
2, Thats a lot of ships you have lost.

When I see a high number of Japanese planes lost "on the ground" combined with a high point loss for Japanese ships, something tells me that you've lost a lot of Japanese CVs. That can't be good...

There's too many versions of the samurai sword around in WITP to keep sticking your neck out like that! [:'(]

Knowing the date would help but with your Oil at 1304 it must be fairly early. From my perspective of being a first time PBEM Japanese player a couple of things stand out.
Why are you still producing Hitachi engines? Only the Hickory/Theresa/Ida/Mary use them and they all are inferior a/c. I can see you are not producing any Hickory or Ida a/c from your screen shots. Even if you are using the Mary and Theresa you have plenty of engines in your pool already to last out the war.
Why are you producing so many Aichi engines? The Judy is the only plane to use this engine and it doesn't show up until 11/43. You have lots of time to build a pool of these engines.
I think your Armament Factory level is too low to keep up with your units replacement needs. I have mine up to 854 now, at the end of 6/41, and am increasing it till I hit 1000. My Armament pool is around 20,000 but dips to below 10,000 after heavy fighting or new divisions show up. You have over 2 times the losses I do for the Japanese Army so they must be hurting for weapon systems.
You have a lot of Naval Shipyard points built up. What you saving them for? You need ships now when they can still do some fighting without getting the snot bombed out of them.
Not sure what you are doing with your aircraft but getting beat up in air to air losses is bad news. In the other catagories, well, bad things happen but in air to air you should be killing him 2-3 to your one in losses. Your never going to get those high experience pilots back.
Oscar 1b is not a great plane but it beats the Nate. I would increase Oscar production so you can replace some of the Nate units with them plus the Oscar factories will auto convert to the Tony which looks to be the plane you are planning on using lots of from the size of your Kawasaki engine pool. Make sure you keep a couple of Nate units around to the bitter end so that nice fat pool of aircraft dont go away. Will come in handy when its time to crash planes into flight decks!
Just my 2 cents which if you are not using the stock game makes it worth even less. In any case, good luck to you from a fellow Darkside player!

i'm sorry to say this, but you aren't doing good:
- to many planes lost
- to many ships lost
- your army losses are quite a big, while enemy should be at least 7 000.
- your oil production should be at least 2.000
- your industry doesn't look outstanding (you did not expand repairs, naval...) but it's reasonable since you dont have enough oil to run it at full capacity (you need 2.225 oil for that)

If its a PBEM game then that's really not fair to his opponent. And whether its PBEM or solo, its a chance to learn from the situation. I say keep playing.

I agree. I haven't been brave enough yet to play PBEM campaign as japan, but hope to at some point. I think you're going to learn a lot from this game and if it is May 42 Japan will still be strong. I would concentrate at this point on:
1. Building two strong defensive perimeters.
2. Finding a few key places to put the hurt on the allies.
