If I begin a campaign in 1792, will I receive additional generals in the following years? I believe the manual said I would, but just looking for some confirmation.

after of a big victory exist high probabilities that you will get the officers. go ahead.

You do get Generals at different dates (some reason we do not get Nappy if you start a early year campaign)

also, based on the number of losses in a battle, there is a chance of a new General being promoted from the ranks

mostly a 1 star, but sometimes you can get a 2 star out of the battle

to get battle field Generals, you want heavy losses, don't matter from who, it counts the total losses

Does this mean in addition to getting Generals from big battles, I will say, recieve Wellington in 1796 as Britain?

you will receive whatever commndr.txt tells you to receive

there should be one commndr.txt in each scenario folder and one in the /Data folder if you're playing the standard scenario

you can edit those and add your own commanders, so if you want to see Nappy in the 92 scenario, just plop him in there

There is a mod for 1792 that gives you all the generals when they historically arrived: look in the mods section. Otherwise, unless you fix commandr.txt yourself, you'll never see Boney, his Noseship, or any of the cool French marshals.
