greetings here, and welcome to the forums,
i have done a mod, but as a basic on modding do not make changes of any file in the main /Crown of Glory/Data directory, the better way to see what files you can change and mod is to open directory /Crown of Glory/Scenarios, here you will find the four alternate scenarios and the main files (10 each scenario) that can be modded, the best way to make a mod is to make a directory under given directory /CoG/Scenarios for your mod and add a _S to the directory name, say, in example /Custom_S copy and paste the 10 files from the scenario you want to start modding, this way you do not change anything out of the main scenario you will make, as a reminder is a good thing always make a backup of any file or directory before start making changes.
in the mod section, upper in this forum you will find more information about modding.
each file on each directory of each scenario are the "rules" for each scenario...
*attitd.txt - relationship between all in game nations, major and minor.
*commndr.txt - generals available in the scenario.
*EuProv2.txt - provinces, how production have each, and more factors.
mapregion-txt - better to no change this file, it gives what provinces form a kingdom in the game, if you form
receive some bonus, as troops or something.
*players2.txt- list all major and minor nations, the major nations are the 8 first listed, here you can change morale, and such.
*relstart-txt - relations at start of the scenario between nations (major- main players, and minor (control under the computer)
(the first text line in this file give what number stablish what relation between given nations, you cannot set a major nation
under conquered status, i think)
*start2.txt - is the oob (order of battle) for the scenario, list all units at start, to know unit types,
you ca read another file, master.txt (/Cog/Data/), in start2.txt you can set a higher morale only to infantry units, any infantry
with morale 8.00 or more will be a guard unit.(take care that when the unit receive replacement in mens morale may be down)
*targets.txt - here are the "politicals goals" for the players when they take (or lose) control of a given province.
well, i hope that helps to begin from a point. (as you have post with my forum name i was thinking the post deserves a kind answer and some explanation.).[:)]
again, welcome to the forum and,
with my best regards,
Murat30.
