What is the purpose of the Toyoda engine? As far as I can see by looking at the plane characteristics window (summary of all plane types for allies and japanese), no japanese planes use this engine type. There's another engine type (I forget which one) in addition to the Toyoda that appears to be useless (no planes utilize it). Is there something I'm missing here? Do tanks and other vehicles require engines of these types? Do some planes switch engine types at particular points in the game? Does anyone have a clue as to what these engines are used for? (Or was I just not careful enough as I went through all of the japanese plane types and skipped one?)

I have to have an engine for my Land Cruiser. Otherwise I'd be stuck sitting around at home.[:D]

I 'think' they may have been a left over from initial a/c types that were later removed from the game but the engine plants forgotten ..

Some mods use them for later a/c. I believe Franks use Toyotas in CHS (although I may be dreaming).

Thanks guys. I wasn't sure if I was missing something important or not here. Now I can actually get on with turn #1 after a week and a half of planning. Gee, only about 2000 more turns left to go! Maybe one of my great grandchildren will be able to finish this game for me someday. [:D]
