Does anyone here use this remote access package and what are the pros and cons.

More importantly, would I be able to log on from my work laptop - that I can't install programs on - and then run my home PC and do game turns and save and send e-mail files[:)]

Ooh - sweet :)

Depends on the game really - Mark Kratzer has done some successfull tests running the Panther Games engine through PC Anywhere and Remote Desktop - the latter was his preference.

I used an earlier version and found it to be quite good. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to play games on it that don't depend on frame rate.

GoToMyPC works quite well in my experience. I think RemoteDesktop is a bit more dangerous to use due to the security issues of enabling it. That said I am not sure that GoToMyPC is inherently more secure.

I use gotomypc all the time - but I go from home to work rather than the other way round. You should be able to do what you want as long as long as you have a high-speed connection on both ends and as long you aren't trying to run video. (The current version supports full color graphics, but video is still too choppy for me.)

As far as I can tell, the security built into gotomypc is better than that in remote desktop - it uses encrypted channel tunneling, if that means anything to you.

Best,
