I purchased PureSim Baseball Gold 2005. After installing and trying to run the game, I get a :Run-time error "429" Active X Comopnent can't create object. I did a diag on DirectX 9.0C and everything came out alright. I unstalled it and reinstalled and also reloaded DirectX and had the same results. Any suggestions? I have the Diag saved.

Re-boot, re-install then re-boot one more time.

OK, there was othe user a few months ago who had a 429 and re-boot / re-install didn't fix it. It turned out his install of some shared Microsoft files was corrupt.

Try this:

1. Make sure you have the latest version of Internet Explorer installed
2. Go to a command prompt
3. at the command prompt change into the "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO" folder
4. From that folder, at the command prompt type: "regsvr32 dao360.dll" (without the quoutes)

They try running the game again. If you still get the error then let me know and I'll send a special diagnostic version of PureSim.

I apologize for you're troubles, installation/crash issues a very rare in PureSim Gold. Hopefully we'll get you up and running as soon as possible. (BTW, what version of Windows are you running?)

Regards,
Shaun

Shaun,
Tried that and step 4 worked, but it didn't make a difference concerning the game.
I also did a Win XP repair and that didn't help. I appreciate your effort so far.

Shaun,
Wanted to tell you what else I tried. I unistalled the game again and used a registry cleaner to git rid of any references to PureSim. Afterwards I rebooted and tried loading the game again. I didn't get the 429 message but I did get a cannot accsess the registry message and it still wouldn't open. So what now. Waiting for your reply/help.

Hmm. This sounds like some sort of security or rights issue. Are you logged in with administrator rights? Also, you may want to try disabling any anti-virus s/w.

Shaun,
I am logged in with administrator rights and I have even turned off my virus program.

I guess I give up. I uninstalled my virus program, turned off my firewall, still didn't work. The Baseball Menu opens up and all the links work, but when I click on play, nothing, no message, nothing, happens.

Anyone have any ideas, other than reloading WinXP and starting over. Any help would be appreciated . I've heard nothing more from support at PureSim.

Are you running a US version of Windows?

I'll send you a debug version of PureSim this weekend so maybe we can zero in on what is going on. It sure seems like something is corrupt in your windows install, but don't re-install yet!

Yes, this is a Win XP US version. I am afraid I scewed something up registry wise when it wouldn't run the first time. Everything else runs great and no problems loading anything else. Like you suggest, something might be corrupt in Windows, probably in relation to the game. Could even be the registry, although I have ran a number of registry repair programs to see if that might help. I thought a Windows repair might fix any corrupt files, but that didn't help. Please send the PureSim Diag and I will anxiously give it a try.

OK, download this file:

http://www.puresim.com/puresim_121_debug.zip

Then rename your current PureSim2k5.exe to PureSim2k5.sav
(Its in your C:\Matrix Games\PureSim Baseball 2005 Gold Edition folder)

Next, extract the PureSim2k5.exe in the zip file you just downloaded into your C:\Matrix Games\PureSim Baseball 2005 Gold Edition folder.

Then, run the game. Hopefully we will get a more verbose error message and it should give you the option to send an email to me with the contents of the error so I can analyze it.

Shaun,
That did the trick!!! When I loaded the debug file, it wouldn't run at first. I kept getting a incompatible puresim.xml file. Said to delete it and reinstall. I did that a few times, but got the same message. I then decided I'd better update the game and try that. After I did the Debug file opened the game and it ran great. I then renamed the original Pursim.exe file back to it's name and the game ran fine again. Thank you for your help. If you need to know any other details let me know.
