CHS Bug

Here is a problem I noted and michaelm's analysis.

Problem Report

I recently started a game AI vs. Japan (1.795 Beta) [current CHS - 1.6].

I've noticed a number of SNLF and NLF units that have (apparently) lost the link to their TOE. The symptoms are that 1) instead of real percentages ready/present (e.g. 75/99), there are large numbers such as 6600/8800; and 2) when the 'Show TOE' (or whatever the button is actually called) is pressed, instead of showing the TOE a message is displayed 'TOE not available' or words to that effect.

These are whole units (not fragments). Aside from them all being either SNLF/NLF, the only common thread that I can see is that they have all been transported by sea and made opposed landings.

Is this a known issue or a new bug? Are save games needed?

you had me going for a while trying to work out how the TOE device list
could look like a fragments.

Then I noticed that all your NLF units, and only those units, have a zero
TOE device list.

1st NLF
2nd NLF
3rd NLF
4th NLF
5th NLF
6th NLF
7th NLF
8th NLF
9th NLF
11th NLF
12th NLF
14th NLF
21st NLF
22nd NLF
23rd NLF
24th NLF
28th NLF
31st NLF
32nd NLF

The problem is in CHS 1.6 scenario.

The NLF units are based on a Formation TOE of 932.

Slot 932 is BLANK.
That explains why there are no devices in the TOE.

If they had run my checker, it would have reported that the NLFs were based
on an empty TOE.

You best had advise those guys of the problem.

In my copy of scenario 15, NO formation number is assigned to the NLF units.
This is not the same as assigning a blank slot as the formation number for the LCU.

When the formation is 0, the LCU uses its starting values as its own TOE.

It was late...my bad.

I may have found the culprit...for those of you using AAwulf's WitPexcel file, the file appears to creat a break between worksheets at slot 931 and slot 932 appears to get lost in the mix.
