Our advance quickly turned sour, as two Jagdpanzers; set high on some mountains; were able to quickly destroy two M4A1s It took all of both A and B company's M38s, and B company's remaining M4A1s and M4A3s; but both were knocked out. Those things can take one hell of a beating.

The Germans are attempting to pin us down with long range fire. Without their JagdPanzers, and no Panzers in sight this is less than effective.

I have ordered our rockets and howitzers to blanket the hill that the fire is coming from. We cannot see them yet; but I hope that a heavy bombardment will give us the chance we need to advance and locate them.

I have ordered the crews of the destroyed Shermans to withdrawl from the field. However, I cannot spare any of the tanks to carry them to safety. We have taken too many losses already, and every last man posible needs to be at the front; not guarding retreating tank crews.

The Germans have begun firing AA guns at us now. One has already taken out a M38. We can also hear the sounds of mortars, but thus far not one shell has landed within sight. This hill is not going quietly.

Co A has taken heavy MG and rifle fire from the north. Their flame tanks have taken cover along the base of a low ridge; ant the men have almost reached this ridge. One squad has been reduced by 50% already. The tanks, just over the ridge; have been driving back German troops at the base of the hill to clear the way for the infantry; with a loss of a M4A1. Co B has advanced with AA and MG firehitting the units on top of the ridge. Others to the south have not seen fire; and I have given the order to abandon the top of the ridge and advance on either side.

Co C has not seen any fire save those shots from the Jagdpanzers. Their advance is completely unchecked.
