There was a previous discussion about the difficulty in getting the preferred patch - v. 2.30 - for those that have later versions of the game

I wonder what happened. I was interested in playing PBEM at some point but have v. 2.41.

A couple of the guys tried going from 2.41 to 2.30, but for some reason or another it doesn't work....
It should possible to go backwards in a game.....just a couple weeks ago I reverted East Front II from 1.03 to 1.02 without any hassles...

I can see how this is possible if you had say 2.30 and patched up to 2.41.
You just uninstall the patches and the game & reinstall from the original 2.30 disk. But if you have a disk at 2.41 I don't see how this can be done.
I might be wrong but I would suspect if it is possible it would be rather complex.

just have two different installs for the different versions,
I have 5 VERSIONS for WITP...

My reading of the prior thread (noted above) is that a poster tried to go from v 2.41 to 2.30 but was unsuccessful.

That's one way to do it I suppose , if you have access to the various versions. I don't think Forwarn45 has 2.30 though so it's not much help to him/her. ( reply to CMDRMCTOAST )
