New Feature!

Hey Matrix Fans! I just caught wind of a new feature for Panzer Command and, being the generous soul that I am, couldn't help but share it!
Koios has accurately dubbed it Binocular View. It's a handy way to really get a feel for your position and the position of the enemy. Here's some screenies:
Before Binocular View:

After Binocular View (32x Zoom)

Nice feature. How many zoom levels do we actually get??
Will it have some feedback on the gameplay or will it be just icing for the ones who want to search the whole battlefield like that?

Does the game allow you to cycle through all the enemy units that are spotted by that unit?

This is a great idea. It is quite good to see this kind of innovation.
All the best

Since the game has relative spotting, there is no real need to 'search' as far as enemy units. Thats why I would want to toggle through sighted units quickly.
Most units might have 5X or perhaps 10X zoom as far as optics (binoculars). I think the intent of the feature is to hasten gameplay and not actually model anything specifically.

Aoios has accurately dubbed it Binocular View.
If the image on screen is magnified by 32 power, and on one screen, how is it "accurately" called "binocular"? Dienstglas, Ziess etc. generally made 8x30 or 10x50 binos for military use - that's 8 power x 30mm objective diameter or alternately 10 power x 50mm...
[:D] Just sayin' is all...

As already mentioned, its a playing aid. It is not needed like it was in Panzer Elite.
Don't confuse Grogdom with anal retentive behaviour.

I suppose it would be 'cool' to have actual magnification, clarity, reticles, etc. to 'see' what a unit commander might see. I suppose some squads might not have any binos at all.
But the intent seems to be a means of getting a units situational awareness quickly. If this helps people crank out email turns, then by all means lets do this.
I hope the game has a LOS feature where all visable areas just light up. The LOS line tool from CM is a pain.
