After installing the game, I began receiving messages of frame rates being too slow. I updated all my drivers to the latest driver versions.

Now, after the game completes the opening screens, I receive a "RTE 91 Object variable or with block variable not set" error box. It happens just as teh game is transitioning to the main menu. It also happens in the PDS when trying to go to the practice mode.

Here's a copy of my DxDiag:

Mitch,

Just took a look and your video driver is from 2003. There should be a much newer one than that available from www.nvidia.com. Also, you appear to have no sound card at all? That's a required component, I'm not sure if the game will work without it. You could try updating your video driver and then playing with the Sound Off option to see if it works. Let me know if that helps.

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (Gateway)
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce FX 5200
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
Display Memory: 128.0 MB
Driver Name: nv4_disp.dll
Driver Version: 6.14.0010.5303 (English)
Driver Attributes: Final Retail
Driver Date/Size: 11/17/2003 10:33:00, 4323968 bytes

Regards,

- Erik

Video drivers were updated prior to the crash, so those are the newest drivers. Somehow when updating the sound drivers something went wrong so I had to do a system restore. I reinstalled the new drivers and things are working again. It was something to do with the sound drivers installation.

Mitch,

I'm glad things are working for you again.

As a side note though, if that is a true GeForce FX 5200 and not some kind of customized version that needs special drivers, then you should double-check as nVidia has been releasing drivers that support that chipset monthly and there are ones out now that are more than two years newer than yours. It could be your manufacturer is not staying up to date with that.
