How long does a game take?

I've never played the board game but am keenly interested playing in MWiF when it is released but I'm wondering about how long a game will take to play?
I purchased war in the Pacific the first week it was released and am still only approaching the end of 1943 of my very first game. I'm enjoying the game but it does take far too long to play it.

Hello,
The real WiF game, with 5 players takes about 100-150 hours. 100 hours if you play quickly, 150 hours if you play rather slowly as we are. 36 turns, 115-135 impulses played.
The CWiF Beta was quite quicker because it was played by me alone, and because the game took charge of the rules, only leaving you the decisions & counters moving, however I have no hard data for it (only played it twice fully). I seem to remember that it was 2-3 weeks of play, with about 5 hours per day every day, but I may not be remembering correctly.
Cheers !

I played CWIF with a friend and got to late -42 before it died due to some bug (something with China). It took about 7 sessions of about 3-4 hours each. Played alone (and I did some wierd things as I am wont to do when I'm doing solo- like Germany declaring war on Brazil and the CW declaring war on Argentina.) it took about 1/2 that (and it lasted until mid 44 when it died again I think it had somthing to do with China and rebasing ships it didn't have)
Of course the board game could take a LOOOOONG time, but usually you'd either know who was winning after about 10 sessions of maybe 6 hours apiece (oh the lessons learned such as how to attack Poland and the expressions of "My GOD why did you do that !" after the other side laughs itself silly when you do something horribly, horribly wrong). Or when the cat/wife decides that "THIS TABLE IS MINE"....... [:)]
